The first quarter of 2022, the USA exported a total quantity of 219,889,319 kg with a value of USD 865,525,885.
Veal is the third most exported meat product to China from the USA, accounting for 15% of meat exports.
In these first three months, a total of 31,980,587 kg of veal worth USD 291,390,409 was exported to China. These values represent a decrease in the growth rate of -1% from January to March. 11,383,627 kg were exported in the first month and 11,253,437 kg in the third, , with a difference of -130,190 kg.
The price per kg of veal exports was 9.05 USD/kg in March.
In particular, the most exported specific products were: frozen veal on the bone and frozen boneless veal.
A total of 25,360,170 kg of frozen boneless veal (02023000 HS) was exported for a value of USD 251,718,100. From February to March its export grew by 17%, as 1,228,328 kg more were exported. The province that exported the most of this product was Shanghai.
As for frozen bone-in veal (02022000 HS), 6,620,417 kg were exported in the months of January to March for a value of 39,672,309 USD. The product grew by 34% in March compared to February.
Furthermore, we have the data on imports from the Chinese provinces. A total of 8 provinces imported more than 1,000,000 kg of veal.
Even so, it is worth noting that the province that imports the least amount of American beef is Jiangxi. In the first quarter, it exported a total of 17,776 kg of beef.
